2017 LakeWalk for Cancer

GG's Earth Angels

Join us, for our 3rd year as GG's Earth Angels, as we walk as a team to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients in our community!

We had a blast last year in rememberance of Dolores Damrow, a beautiful lady inside and out, that had given all she had to fight cancer.  I know that not just Delores has had to fight cancer so why not come out and join our team to remember those that have had to fight the fight.  For those of you that are on the fence about walking with us, dont be afraid come out and walk.  Afterwards, we have a "party" if that's what you want to call it to remember and share stories of those that are no longer with us.  My kids enjoy walking for GG every year so bring the whole family to walk.

This year about 564,800 Americans are expected to die of cancer—more than 1,500 people a day.  Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease. One of every four deaths in the US is from cancer. Since 1990, there have been approximately 5 million cancer deaths.  The ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer raise funds to make the best and latest cancer treatments, technology and support available right here in Waukesha County.

World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day was founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008, but this only does so much.  This is just awareness.  The walks and other non-profit events help those in our local community.

Register and join our team! If you can't join us, consider donating.  Your support makes a difference in the lives of our neighbors, friends and family.
