Staying Sheila Strong!
Join me as I walk to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients!
The ProHealth Care Walks for Cancer raise funds to make the best and latest cancer treatments, technology and support available right here in Waukesha County. I have personally benefited from the money that has been raised in the past, and still today. I've been very blessed to have had an outstanding medical team and to have all the resources I've needed right here in Waukesha County.
Have you ever thought of donating your hair? The feeling of having no hair was something that no one could really prepare me for. Not only was it hard to see hair left on the pillow, going down the shower drain, but just seeing how people would look at me made me sad. So this was one thing I thought I could try and help others deal with. I have been growing my hair out since December 2014 when I finished up my chemo. I plan on cutting it off on the day of the Park Walk. I'm hoping that I will have others that are willing to donate also. We will send our hair to Children with Hair Loss, a nonprofit based out of Michigan that gives wigs to children and young adults in the US who have medical hair loss. My sister-n-law Mick has offered to help trim up your hair afterward. Let's see how many inches we can collect to help others in need.
